English Premier League (EPL) 2023/2024 – The run in.
Who is most likely to win?
With seven remaining games left in the 23/24 EPL season the only certainty is that this remarkable season race will go down to the final games.
Realistically we are looking at a three-horse race between Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool. Only a fantasy outcome puts Tottenham or Aston Villa in the mix.
With these three teams separated by one point and goal differences any one of these teams can make off with the silverware.
Our expert pundit has poured over the remaining fixtures and form and has come to the following conclusion.
Arsenal:
Arsenal continues to strengthen their squad and their ability to see out matches.
If Arteta stays at Arsenal and is given money to spend it is a matter of time before they are recrowned premier league winners.
Will this be their season?
With seven games remaining Arsenal still must face Manchester United and Spurs away from home and Aston Villa at home – we expect them to drop points.
Arsenal’s squad is thin and any injury to Odengard, Saka or Rice will have a big impact on them.
Arsenal are still in the Champions league and after the midweek draw have work still to do in order to progress – will this be a distraction?
Manchester City:
Manchester City knows what it takes to win the league and has proved they have the mental ability to do it time after time.
They are famous for a solid run in and based on their experience are rightful favourites to do it again.
However, they find themselves one point (and some goal difference) behind the leaders and Erling Haaland isn’t as prolificate as he was last year.
Manchester City are still in the Champions league and also drew midweek – do they have enough in the tank?
They will need to win all their remaining games and hope the rest drop points.
Liverpool:
With Jurgen Klopp leaving at the end of the season this should give the team a boost for the run in.
They have easier games than Arsenal and are a point ahead of City.
That said their Egyptian talisman has not been the same since returning from AFCON and with Jota still injured, they lack some of the clinical finishing required to see off games.
Conclusion:
Punching all the above into the computer you can easily put together a case for any one of the three to take the trophy.
